SOMEONE ELSE'S MOVIE is just what it says on the label: Each week, an actor, director, screenwriter, critic or industry observer will discuss a film that he or she admires, but had no hand in making. Hosted as genially as possible by Norm Wilner.

Sep 8, 2015

Actress-writer-producer Katie Boland is bringing two films to TIFF later this week -- she produced the short film Boxing and has a supporting role opposite Ethan Hawke in the Chet Baker drama Born to Be Blue -- so it was really nice of her to carve out the time to talk about Michel Gondry and Charlie Kaufman's rapturous, melancholic 2004 comedy. Your genial host Norm Wilner promised himself he wouldn't cry.

Great discussion, guys. Made me wish that I was in the room having this talk with you.

I saw Eternal Sunshine in theatres when I was 17 and it's been in my top 3 all-time favourites since. I'm a screenwriter and director now but this film is still the benchmark that I hope to reach one day.

Thanks for making my commute an easier ride today. I think I know what I'm going to watch when I get home tonight. It's gonna hurt so good.
